Instrumentation and information system

The Laboratory processes a very large number of biological samples and analytical data every day. To ensure the quality of its results, the Laboratory uses a state-of-the-art computer system and automated instrumentation. Samples are identified by barcodes applied to the tubes at the time of collection to prevent mix-ups. The Laboratory management system manages the equipment that performs the analyses directly on the collected tubes. The results are automatically transferred from the instrument to electronic format. For further verification, the results are reviewed using laboratory software that provides statistical control data for each test and for each individual patient.
